The Lost Cities of the Almolonga Valley Ride
This tour is named for the Almolonga Valley, just to the west of Antigua, which was home of the 2nd capital of Guatemala, Ciudad Vieja. The old city met a fateful doom in 1541 as a result of a terrible mudslide released from the crater of the Volcan de Agua. The city disappeared in the valley between Agua, Fuego & Acatenango volcanoes and the exact site of the old city is the source of much debate.

* Escape Antigua for the day and tour the countryside by mountain bike.
* See ruins one earthquake away from extinction.
* Visit Lorenzo's experimental farm macademia at Valhalla -- sustainable agriculture, radical economics
* Explore the textile village of San Antonio Agua Calientes, famous for its weavings.
